KOKRAJHAR, Dec 21 - A day-long training-cum-workshop on Atal Pension Yojana (APY) for the postal employees of Kokrajhar district was held on Sunday here at Kokrajhar Ras Mela field.
The training-cum-workshop was organised by the Superintendent of Post Office, Goalpara Division.
Debraj Sethi, Superintendent of Post Office, Goalpara Division, Pallab Hazarika, Assistant Superintendent of Post Office, Kokrajhar Division, KL Mech, Inspector of Post Office, Kokrajhar, among others, attended the programme as resource persons and highlighted various aspects of the scheme.
It may be mentioned here that the Atal Pension Yojana scheme aims to increase the old-age income security of the working poor and to provide a universal social security system for all citizens, especially the poor, the underprivileged and the workers in the unorganised sector. The APY scheme is open to all citizens of India between 18-40 years of age having a saving bank account in a bank or post office.
