Traffic regulations during winter session

GUWAHATI, Dec 8 � Restrictions on the movement of vehicles have been enforced during the winter session of the Assam Legislative Assembly to be effective from December 10 to ensure safety of the public, vulnerable road users, vehicles users and to maintain smooth flow of traffic in and around Dispur Capital Complex keeping in view that several organisations have announced protest actions during the period, police sources said here.

According to an official release, movement of all types of vehicular traffic on �Sixty Feet Road� from Supermarket Traffic Point to Dispur Last Gate traffic point shall remain closed from 7 am till the session of the day is over.

City buses coming from Basistha Chariali towards Dispur Last gate will be diverted towards GS Road from Beltola Chariali and will ply via Jawahar Nagar road, Joyanagar Chariali and Sixmile service road.

Vehicles coming from Beltola Chariali towards Ganeshguri will move via BN Saikia Road and Dr RP Road (rear of MLA Hostels).

City bus / public bus stops between Ganeshguri Chariali to Supermarket point on GS Road and from Ganesh-guri to Hatigaon on Dr RP Road will stand withdrawn temporarily during the Assembly session.

Vehicles bound for Beltola via Last Gate shall ply through GS Road, Supermarket, Sixmile point (via flyover service road) and Joyanagar road, while Hatigaon and Kahilipara bound vehicles from Paltanbazar side will move through service road of Ganeshguri Flyover, RP Road.

City buses and other heavy vehicles coming from RG Baruah Road to proceed towards Hatigaon and Kahilipara will run via Ganeshguri Service Road, GS Road, Sixmile point, Joyanagar Chariali, Beltola Chariali and Last Gate Point.

A number of no parking zones have also been established to ensure smooth flow of traffic. Both sides of GS Road from the Janata Bhawan to Supermarket, Sixty Feet Road, RP Road will not be available for parking during the time of the Assembly session.

All vehicles found parked in this area will be towed away without any further intimation.
