By STAFF REPORTER

GUWAHATI, Jan 19 Dulal Bora, a resident of Kainadhara Tiniali of Basistha today staged a protest demonstration in front of the Basistha police station seeking justice and protesting against the inadequate measures taken up by police against the culprits, who attacked him twice with an intention to kill.

Bora alleged that despite concrete proofs against the culprits in form of CCTV footage, police is not taking action against the culprits at the behest of a Cabinet minister of the State.

I filed an FIR in August, 2012 (Case no 521/2012) against an attack on me at my shop at Kainadhara Tiniali. I was attacked for a second time at my shop with dangerous weapons on December 16, 2012 and the written ejahar was lodged by my wife at Basistha police station. Despite the fact that the CCTV footage of my shop has identified the culprits, police has neither taken any action nor has put proper sections in the case, Bora told The Assam Tribune.

In a letter to the Director General of Police, Bora has alleged that the attacks on him are being made at the behest of a Cabinet Minister, whose name Dulal Bora has been accusing in a brutal murder case, at the city fringes.

I called off my fast unto death at 4.30 pm today at the assurance of IGP (Law and Order) SN Singh and ADC Mrinal Gogoi to arrest the culprits by Monday. If proper action is not taken by the scheduled time, I would start my fast for uncertain period, till I get justice, said Bora.
