DIPHU, Aug 7 - The Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) here on Monday distributed tractors among representatives of Pathar Parisalana Samitis (PPS) and self-help groups (SHGs).
Altogether, 363 SHGs, PPS and other persons were given tractors in sub-subsidy rate by the Department of Agriculture Engineering, KAAC under the Chief Minister�s Samagra Gramya Unnayan Yojana (CMSGUY).
State HAD Minister Sum Ronghang while addressing the tractor distribution ceremony said that funds will be released to the KAAC based on good performance shown by the respective departments.
The department will receive funds from the State Government in due time if they complete their allotted work and duly submit utilisation certificates, Ronghang clarified.
He said that works should be completed within the allotted timeframe and submission of utilisation certificate was mandatory to ensure smooth fund flow from the State Government, Ronghang said.
He mentioned that there were departments who always failed to produce utilisation certificate of work implemented. Hence, problems often arise in release of funds. From now onwards, funds will be immediately released depending on the quality of performance and speed of disposal, the HAD Minister said.
While referring to functioning of the Mine and Minerals Department, Ronghang regretted that there is only one office of the department in the State. Shortly, branch offices will be opened in all the districts.
In Karbi Anglong too, a district office of Mine and Minerals Department will be set up. Discussion was under way for the creation of new offices and posts, the Minister said.
Besides, Ronghang further observed that the Revenue Department in Karbi Anglong will have to work with sincerity. Knowledge about the exact number of revenue villages was necessary, or else the KAAC will not be able to collect revenue from these villages, Ronghang said. In his speech, Tuliram Ronghang, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of KAAC instructed all MACs to visit their respective constituencies to take stock of problems of the people from August 17 next.
Ronghang observed, �There are many interior places which are yet to be reached, and Team Karbi Anglong has decided to reach such interior places.� From August 17, Team Karbi Anglong - all EMs, MACs, Principal Secretary, Secretaries and head of all departments will tour each MAC constituency starting from Mahamaya MAC.
