Total lunar eclipse today

GUWAHATI, Dec 9 � The total lunar eclipse on December 10 will be visible from the entire North East along with the rest of the country.

Besides India, the eclipse will also be visible from most of Asia, Europe, East Africa, Australia, Pacific and North Atlantic regions.

The lunar eclipse will begin with partial phase at 6.15 pm. The totality of the lunar eclipse will start at 7.36 pm and it will last till 8.28 pm. The eclipse will end with partial phase at 9.48 pm.

It needs to be mentioned here that the next such opportunity to observe a total lunar eclipse in its entire period from the North East region will come on January 31, 2018.

The Guwahati Planetarium, in association with the Pragjyotish Amateur Astronomers Association, is arranging a public eclipse observation programme on the planetarium premises.
