GUWAHATI, Oct 10 - The Topcem Challenge Football Tournament got under way at the Mini Stadium, North Guwahati today.
The tournament was inaugurated by Anil Kapur, president, Sales and Marketing, Topcem Cement in presence of former footballers of the Rudreswar Ajanta Club Anil Barua, Dilip Boro, Tomiz Ali, Achyut Boro, Amulya Buragohain etc. The opening match was played between NE Zone CRPF football team, Guwahati and North Guwahati FC. The local team won the match 3-2.
The first goal was scored by Dhiraj Saikia of North Guwahati FC. The first half saw keen contest between the teams and the North Guwahati team was leading by 2-1 goals. The winning goal was scored by Manash Boro of North Guwahati FC. The goal scorers from the NE Zone CRPF team were L Haloi and Sunil.
