DIPHU, Jan 28 � A new political crisis has emerged in the Congress party in Karbi Anglong with a top leader along with his followers quitting the party even as the BJP has been trying to rip the benefits from the feud in the Congress.
On Tuesday, the former CEM of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council and the president of the Karbi Anglong District Congress Committee, Sum Ronghang resigned from the party in a meeting at Rajapathar in his Langpher MAC home constituency.
After Ronghang�s announcement, the Congress workers of the constituency as well as his supporters and well-wishers also resigned from their respective party posts and portfolios. It has been learnt that Ronghang and his followers will join the BJP in the first week of February.
