MORIGAON, Aug 19 - Around 81% polling was reported in 19 constituencies of Tiwa Autonomous Council election today in Morigaon district, informed DC, Morigaon Rakesh Kumar.
The polling percentage might go up as the voters were casting votes even after 5 pm, Kumar added. The highest turn out 91 per cent was recorded in Borchila polling station, while Duwani polling station recorded the lowest polling 36 per cent.
The polling was by and large peaceful. Police and security forces, however, thwarted untoward incidents in Kanaklata LP polling station and Gohain Baruah LP polling station in No. 9 Damal constituency.
