DIBRUGARH, Dec 17 - Tinsukia Railway Division and Lengharijan Tea Estate made it to the final of the Captain Jintu Gogoi memorial football tournament. The final will be played on December 19.
Tinsukia Railway Division won against Billungooni Tea Estate 9-8 in sudden death in the first semifinal. Both the teams scored three goals each during regulation time owing to which the match proceeded into tie-breaker and finally into �sudden death�.
Nabin Saura of Tinsukia Railway ensured his brace while Sarandip Chetia scored the third goal. For Billungooni Tea Estate, Anil Sobor scored two goals followed by a goal by Amar Rajowar.
The second semifinal was played between Lengharijan Tea Estate and Barekuri Football Coaching Club. Lengharijan won the match 3-2. James Topno, Koston Topno and Kanoi Sonar of Lengharijan Tea Estate scored a goal each for the team while Poritan Khuman and Sankar Bagh found the back of the net for Barekuri.
Tomorrow, Billungooni Tea Estate will lock horns with Barekuri Football Coaching Club for the third position. Altogether 16 teams are taking part in the tournament, which is being organised by the Dao Division (Army) in association with Dibrugarh District Sports Association (DDSA).
