Tinsukia farmers discuss problems

TINSUKIA, May 16 - Farmers of Tinsukia district with the cooperation of the Tinsukia District Field Management Coordination Committee (Tinisukia Jila Pathar Parichalana Samannay Raksha Samity) (TDFMCC)) organised a meeting to discuss their problems and future plans etc., at the District Library auditorium here on Monday.

The meeting presided over by Basanta Barua, president of the organising committee, was attended and addressed by Bolin Chetia, former MLA and Parliamentary Secretary, Govt of Assam and candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Sadiya, Sanjay Kishan, BJP candidate of Tinsukia constituency, Turakanta Hatibaruah, president, TDFMCC besides other farmers of the district. The meeting discussed about issuance of miyadi patta, permanent irrigation system, reformation of agriculture policy, conservation of forest and agricultural land, to place the demand for bringing Agriculture, Fishery, Sericulture, Irrigation, Animal husbandry and Cooperative under one department and lastly to set up separate market for farmers.
