Three-day free yoga camp held at Sootea-Jamuguri

JAMUGURIHAT, Dec 27 - A three-day free yoga camp was held at Amritopam Public School of Karchantala and Marigold High School at Sootea as part of Assam Yoga Festival. It may be mentioned here that the All Assam Yoga Mahasangha had organised a number of yoga camps throughout the state.

Niranjan Gogoi, yoga instructor of undivided Sonitpur district organised the camps in two schools of Sootea and Jamugurihat from December 25 to 27. The yoga camp held at Amritopam Public School was inaugurated by Dulal Mahali, Principal of the school while Jiban Bora, Principal of Jamuguri HSS chaired the open session. Retired teacher Dulu Gogoi attended the camp as distinguished guest in the opening session. Similarly, PR Ali chaired the inaugural session held at Sootea while retired teacher Jagadish Talukdar lit the ceremonial lamps at Marigold High School.

A total of 200 students participated in the three-day free yoga camps. Students who excelled in yoga performance were awarded by the yoga instructor.

Dr Dilip Kumar Bhuyan chaired the valedictory function which was held at Amritopam Public School today. Incidentally, Niranjan Gogoi has conducted many yoga camps in the greater Sootea-Jamugurihat area so far.
