GUWAHATI, Oct 19 - The Kamrup (M) district administration has taken action against three bars for violating excise rules. An official statement said the licence of Kamakazi bar at Machkhowa has been suspended for three days from today and show-cause notice has been issued to its owner.
Meanwhile, penalty of Rs 5,000 each has been imposed on Cafe Copa located at GS Road and Topaz bar-cum-restaurant at Ulubari. Showcause notices too have been issued to their proprietors. The administration has directed the owners of the three establishments to reply to the show-cause notices by October 28.
The action by the administration comes following inspections carried out at these places on October 17 by a team of officials.
