GUWAHATI, April 8 - Governor PB Acharya has announced three awards � Lachit Barphukan Award to be awarded to the best trainee teacher, Rani Ma Gaidinliu Award to be awarded to the best female student and �Bodofa� Upendranath Brahma Award to be awarded to the best tribal student (male).

The institution of the awards was declared by the Governor at the concluding function of the folk dance workshop organized by the Sanskritic Mancha Assam (Centre for Traditional Art & Culture) at Shilpgram here.

For presentation of the awards, the Governor has announced an amount of Rs 1 lakh to the Sanskritic Mancha Assam, which will be invested as a joint fixed deposit between the Governor�s Secretariat and the Mancha. The three awards will be presented from the yearly accrued interest.
