Thousands throng Udalguri session

UDALGURI, Jan 20 � The Bwrigooma Fwthar, the venue of 50th annual conference of Bodo Sahitya Sabha, premier literary organization of the State is being thronged by huge crowds from all walks of life. The venue, which is spread on either side of the Udalguri-Tamulpur road covering near about 100 bighas of land, has been turned into a crowded makeshift city with floodlights making the evenings lively and bright.

The second day of the annual conference of the literary organization today began with inauguration of marty�s tomb at the Bihuram Boro Bhawan, the district head office of the Udalguri district unit of BSS by Dr. Kameswar Brahma, president of the BSS in the presence of Rihon Daimari, State PHE Minister and president of the reception committee of the conference and many other dignitaries. Lwmshraw Daimari, executive member of BTC, opened the Doleswar Boro main pandal followed by the registration of delegates. Maheswar Boro, MLA of Kalaigaon LAC, opened the martyr Bihuram Boro dlegates� hall. The central executive meeting on the occasion was presided over by Dr. Kameswar Brahma, president of the BSS while Kamalakanta Mochahary, general secretary, carried on the proceeding of the executive meeting. In the evening, Sarat Ch. Basumatary, former joint secretary of BSS, inaugurated the first delegates� session. Sulekha Basumatary, popular Bodo singer performed at the Khudiram Basumatary memorial cultural nite this evening.

Tomorrow, the third day of the 50th annual conference of the BSS, will proceed in the morning with the BSS flag hoisting by Dr. Kameswar Brahma which will be followed by homage to the martyr by Rajen Khakhlary, vice-president of the BSS along with other programmes.
