Theatre personality Mahanta�s death condoled

GUWAHATI, Dec 3 - The death of theatre personality, journalist and senior producer Dipak Mahanta in a road accident last night has been deeply condoled by several organisations and media bodies.

The Electronic Media Forum Assam (EMFA) has also expressed profound grief at the death of Dipak Mahanta, who was a senior producer at news channel Assam Talks.

Mahanta was on his way back to Guwahati after a shooting schedule at Tezpur, when the vehicle carrying him and a few others met with an accident at Deoshal in Jagiroad on Wednesday midnight.

Mahanta leaves behind his wife and a son.

The Journalists Association of Assam (JAA), National Union of Journalist India�s Assam State president Dhirendra Nath Chakravartty and general secretary Bhupen Goswami also have expressed sorrow at Mahanta�s death.

The Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti, AGP president Atul Bora, former Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta and Assam BJP president and Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal also have condoled Mahanta�s death.
