Theatre lab set up in city

GUWAHATI, May 3 - Asom Ranga Katha, Guwahati, well known for various activities related to development of theatre like research, training and performance of theatre, has established a theatre laboratory at Bhetapara here.

The laboratory, named Daksheswar Bhuyan Memorial Laboratory for Theatre Practices, to be run by Asom Ranga Katha, Guwahati was formally inaugurated by famous theatre professor, director and workshop leader Ms Karen Libman from USA.

During the inaugural programme Ms Libman was also honoured as a life member/adviser to the laboratory. Veteran theatre director, actor and playwright Ranajit Sutradhar, also a life member of Asom Ranga Katha, formally handed over the honour to Ms Libman.

It may be mentioned that the laboratory premises have been donated by Asom Ranga Katha�s director and playwright Niranjan Bhuyan in honour of his father.
