GUWAHATI, Dec 8 - The third edition of the TG Baruah Memorial Media T-20 Championship will be held at the Judges Field here from January 2.

We will be organising the knock-out championship from January 2 while the final will be played on January 12. We would like to request the interested teams to confirm their participation before the 15th of December. Although the champions walked away with a cash award of Rs 10,000 last year, we are yet to decide regarding the amount for this edition, said Sunil Bora, member, organising committee.

The organisers have asked the interested teams to furnish a list of 15 players along with a copy of their identity cards and a joining fee of Rs 500.

Last year we had 16 teams participating in the tournament although we believe there will be quite a few more this year. We had felicitated some of the former Ranji players of the state during the final of the last edition. We are also looking forward to felicitating the Assam Ranji side for their fine show in this season. Talks are on but nothing has been finalised as yet, Bora said.

The tie draw will be made in front of the representatives of each team participating in the tournament on December 20.

We have been organising the tournament in memory of TG Baruah and we are yet again very much thankful to The Assam Tribune Group for having so much faith on us, Bora added.
