Tezpur train passenger found dead in WB

TEZPUR, Oct 13 - At a time when the Central government and the Railway Department have claimed to have developed every possible system, including security measures for the passengers, time and again reports of harassment and even killing of railway passengers have provided a negative picture.

Such an incident of alleged murder of a local youth of Nabil-Kachari area here in a coach during a recent train journey has shocked everyone here.

According to reports, deceased Khogen Foyal (30) of Nabil-Kochari under Thelamara Police Station in Sonitpur district, who was working at a local firm in Bengaluru, boarded the Bengaluru-Tinsukia Express (Train No. 15901) on October 4 at 3:10 am to travel to Guwahati. Elder brother of the deceased, Chatrapati Foyal, who was also travelling with him, said that during their 36-hour-long journey his brother suddenly disappeared from the coach on October 6 morning at Hachimara Station in West Bengal.

�Sensing something fishy, although I searched for him in most of the coaches of the train, I didn�t find him. In the evening of the same day, I reached home alone having many doubts over the issue. However, on October 7, I got a message from the Birpara Police Station of Alipurduar district in West Bengal stating that the body of my brother was found in a tea garden,� he said.

Based on that information, the family members rushed to the Birpara Police Station in West Bengal with the help of Thelamara Police Station to receive the body.
