TEN Sports to telecast 500-plus soccer matches

GUWAHATI, Nov 10 � TEN Sports, India�s only 24 � hour football channel, will dish out a complete line of the best of Indian football and the best of European soccer leagues in the coming months. During 2011-12 football seasons, TEN will be broadcasting 500 plus football matches Live.

Addressing a press conference here today, Deepender Shejpal, marketing head, Ten Sports said, �With Spanish League, Italian League, UEFA Champions League and other marquee football league action on TEN Action, it offers the most compelling football sports programming. Since the successful launch of the TEN Action+, it has built a strong and loyal fan base among viewers in North East.� Continuing its commitment to bring the best of Indian football matches for the viewers, TEN acquired I League rights for 2011-2012 season. It will be telecasting 75 matches featuring top Indian Clubs East Bengal Mohan Bagan, Lajong FC, Pune FC, etc.

Hockey bonanza on Ten Sports: Ten Sports has acquired the broadcasting rights for the FIH Champions Challenge and Champions Trophy. Top men�s team from around the world will play in both the tournaments. Both the tournaments are most premier annual men hockey tournaments held under the aegis of FIH. FIH Champions Challenge will be played at Johannesburg from November 26 to December 4. TEN Sports will also be telecasting the FIH Champions Trophy to be played in Auckland from December 3-11.

Army School, South Point win

GUWAHATI, Nov 10: Army School, Basistha and South Point School won their respective matches in the River Rine Cricmet Coaching Centre organised Parijat Mazumdar Memorial and Rooby Group U-14 inter school cricket tournament at Latasil playground here today. In the day�s first match Army School, Basistha beat Kamrup Academy HS School by 42 runs while South Point downed City Montessori School by six wickets.

Brief scores: Army Basistha 155/5 (Prabha S Pandey 35, Lenin Swargiary 29, Chaturbhuj Pandey 23). Kamrup Academy 113 (Rahul Prasad 21, Bishnu Basfor 19, Prabha S Pandey 4/10, Jitendra Kumar 2/20, Chaturbhuj 2/25).
