GUWAHATI, Nov 8 Tej Hazarika, son of Dr Bhupen Hazarika arrived today and visited the Judges Field around 4:50 pm to pay his tributes. He while addressing the people said, I thank all of you for showing such emotions for my father. I have no words to describe what I am witnessing here. This is how my fathers work affected the people, he said.
Tez said that he still had a lot to learn from the work of his father, and the culture of the country that his father loved so much.
His words and works will live on and people will continue to understand his work and lead a happy life, he stated.
Tej was accompanied by the family members of Dr Hazarika.
Earlier, National award winning actress Seema Biswas expressing her condolences said that she has never seen such turn out before.
He was common mans own. Probably when Indira Gandhi was assassinated, people came out with such intensity, she said adding that the world will miss the cultural icon and his works.
His creations must be preserved and popularized like Rabindra Sangeet, she emphasized.
A 90- year-old fan of Dr Hazarika who came all the way from Tezpur said, We should feel proud that a man like Bhupenda was born in our land. As far the crowd presence goes, this is probably the biggest turn out the soil of Assam has ever witnessed since independence, he said.
