TURA, Aug 20 - A 15 year-old girl from Sitamari in Bihar, who was working as a domestic help in a house in Fancy Valley locality here hanged herself early morning today.
According to police, the girl was unhappy after allegedly being forced into a marriage by her parents.
�The initial report does not suggest any sort of foul play. There was only a ligature mark from the hanging. There were no other injury marks to suggest any form of physical torture,� said SP of West Garo Hills, Dr MGR Kumar.
�Her family had decided to get her elder sister married to a man. However, the elder sister was adamant at not marrying him. The family then tried to get the younger sister (the victim) into marriage with the same person leading to her taking the extreme step,� said a source.
The post mortem of the victim was performed today at Tura Civil Hospital.
