Teachers� team to visit China

JALUKBARI, April 12 - A 30-member team, comprising principals of colleges, professors of universities/colleges and teachers of schools from different parts of Assam will visit Chinese universities in Kunming and Beijing from April 13 to 18.

The Higher Education Tour to Universities and Higher Education Institutions in China will be conducted by the India China Alliance for Cooperation (ICAC), New Delhi. The main objective of the visit to Chinese universities will be to understand the functioning of China�s largest higher education system in the world and to develop research collaboration between Chinese universities and universities and colleges in Assam.

The team will visit Yunnan Minzu University (YMU) and Kunming Institute on Botany (KIB) in Kunming and Renmin University of China in Beijing. They will also visit many cultural centres, stone forests, Great Wall of China and many other important places, business sectors and industrial establishments in China.

Prof Jogen Chandra Kalita, Coordinator of Gauhati University Wing for International Relation will act as the mission leader of the visiting team.
