JORABAT, Nov 30 - The National Institute for Teacher Education (NIFTE), Khetri, a part of the BEF group of institutions celebrated its 20th �Freshmen Social� for the academic session 2018-20 in the institute auditorium today.
Joint directors of State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT) Dr Deva Kr Dutta and Dr Lakhi Narayan Sonowal attended the function as special guests.
The event commenced with a speech by Principal Dr Pabon Ch Gogoi, who welcomed the new students on behalf of the college staff and assured that efforts would be made to develop their all-round personality.
He urged the students to work for good, saying, �Teachers are the source of social change�.
In his speech, Ramcharan Bharali, secretary of BEF group of institutions, termed the students �assets� of the future and asked the newcomers to work enthusiastically in their field.
SCERT Joint Director Dr Dutta encouraged the freshers and wished them the very best for their bright future. He also asked the teachers to make the classroom �learning-friendly� for the students.
