TINSUKIA, March 8 - The Tea tribes have demanded a candidate from their community to represent the 126 Sadiya constituency. This was demanded in a resolution taken in a public rally jointly organised by the Talap branches of All Assam Tea Tribe Students� Association (AATTSA), All Adibasi Students� Association and Assam Tea Tribe Women Association at the Bali Bazar, Talap under Sadiya LAC recently.
They urged the political parties to nominate Tea tribe candidates for the constituency. The rally held on Sunday was attended by hundreds of Tea tribe community members. The rally was addressed by the presidents and other leaders of the Talap units of all the three organisations.
