GUWAHATI, Nov 25 - Generally, Dhiren Nath sells tea and snacks at his small shop in front of the Kalakshetra, but on Wednesday, the tea stall turned into a flower shop on public demand.

Since morning people have been coming from different corners of the State to pay their last tributes to Tarun Gogoi. And to pay their tribute, everyone is in search of flower garlands, but there was no such shop in this locality. So today, I decided to keep some flower garlands at my shop for the people. Today people are visiting my shop not to take tea but to buy flower garlands, Nath said.

He stated that till evening he had sold flower garlands worth over Rs 6,000 and people were still coming to purchase more.

Similarly, Haren Kalita, a city-based auto van driver also took to selling flower garlands near the Kalakshetra since morning as he observed that most people were looking for flowers in Panjabari area to pay tribute to Tarun Gogoi.

As most people were searching for flower garlands, I decided not to run my auto van and set up a temporary shop instead. I am delighted to be able to help people pay homage to their beloved leader, Kalita said.
