ITANAGAR, Sept 26 - The picturesque Tawang is gearing up for the annual mega tourism extravaganza, Tawang Festival, scheduled for October 21-23 next.
In this regard, the district administration held a preparatory meeting at Tawang today.
Chaired by Tawang Deputy Commissioner Sang Phuntsok, the meeting was attended by local MLA Tsering Tashi, Zilla Parishad Chairperson, head of departments, including the district SP, secretary of Tawang Monastery, public leaders, and representatives of Army, SSB, GREF, ITBP and local NGOs, including Yuva Arunachal, and student leaders.
In his speech, the MLA said that the three-day festival would provide ample opportunity to promote tourism and showcase the rich culture and traditions of the district in particular and the State in general. He called for cooperation from all concerned to make the event a grand success.
At the meeting, various committees and sub-committees were constituted and accordingly, duties and responsibilities assigned to them.
