Tamil Nadu retain EPFO football title

GUWAHATI, Dec 2 - With an unbroken streak of 15 consecutive titles under their belt, Tamil Nadu, representing EPFO South Zone retained the crown in the EPFO All India Football Tournament.

In the final played at the SAI complex here recently the Tamil Nadu team outplayed Bengal, EPFO East Zone 4-0.

The championship was hosted by EPFO, NER Zone under the aegis of Central Provident Fund Commissioner and President, Central Sports Promotion Board, New Delhi. Senior officials from EPFO, Head Quarters SC Sharma; RPFC I, Manoj Dutt; Welfare Officer, Jay Shankar and central observer were present during the three-day event.�

Teams from Delhi (representing North Zone), Haryana (Representing Central Zone), Gujarat (representing West Zone), Bengal (representing East Zone) and, defending champions Tamil Nadu (representing South Zone) were felicitated by Additional Central Provident Fund Commissioner and president, Regional Sports Promotion Board, NER KL Goyal in presence of RW Kapai, RPFC1, Zonal Office, NER, secretary, Regional Sports Promotion Board and RPFC 1, Regional Office Guwahati, P Hangsing who also kicked off the tournament.�

The chief guest in the closing ceremony was AA Khan, Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), NER, Guwahati, stated a release.
