GUWAHATI, Oct 4 - A jubillant Assam captain Gokul Sharma after the match praised all rounder J Syed Mohammad for his show in the match against the defending champions.

Gokul said his team played tremendous cricket on the first and final day of the match due to which the team has been able to bag three points with the first innings lead.

Louding Syed, Gokul said, the left arm spinner was in tremendous form on the opening day when he singlehandedly wrecked the Karnataka innings. "Today also he played a very crucial role while batting at number seven and remained unbeaten", the skipper said.

Gokul also revealed that his fourth wicket partnership with Arun was also a vital one as it not only added 132 runs but also spoilt Karnataka's around 200 minutes in a crucial period of the day.

Man-of-the-match Jamaluddin Syed Mohammad said, it was his best show in Ranji Trophy in which he made debut from Assam in 2012. He said that his second spell on the opening day was the best where he took three Karnataka wickets in six overs for 20 runs.
