Swine flu scare in Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH, Feb 19 � A first confirmed case of Swine Flu has been reported from the Northeast after throat and nasal swabs of a woman from Nagaland tested positive at the Regional Medical Research Centre, Lahoal near here.

The confirmed case of Swine Flu has created a sort of scare among the people here as more samples are being rushed for testing at the researh centre. Assam has sent the highest number of samples of suspected cases to the centre for testing, but none so far tested positive, Dr Jagdish Mahanta, Director of RMRC told The Assam Tribune. Dr Mahanta said people need not panic as medical treatment is available and it can be cured with medication.
