Swami Ramdev to tour NE from February 7

DIBRUGARH, Jan 1 � As part of the three-year pan-India Bharat Swabhimaan Yatra, Swami Ramdev will visit the North-east from February 7 to March 2 next year, according to Rakesh Mittal, secretary general of the Patanjali Yoga Society.

During this period, Swami Ramdev will hold 20 daylong yoga camps in various parts of the region where he will also spread the message of national unity, apart from discussing his pet theme of yogic exercises for healthy living.

As per the itinerary, Swami Ramdev will hold the yoga camps at Guwahati on February 7 Tura on February 8, Dhubri on February 9, Bongaigaon on February 10, Kokrajhar on February 11, Barpeta on February 12, Nalbari on February 13, Tezpur on February 15, Itanagar on February 16, Tawang on Feb 17, North Lakhimpur on Feb 18, Pasighar on Feb 19, Dhemaji on Feb 20, Dibrugarh on Feb 21, Tinsukia on Feb 22, Sivasagar on Feb 23, Golaghat on Feb 24, Dimapur on Feb 25, Kohima on Feb 26, Nagaon on Feb 27 and Jowai on March 1. Mittal said that there is tremendous enthusiasm among yoga enthusiasts in the region, and that at each of the venues, substantial numbers of members of the general public are expected to attend. The organisers are of the view that in major urban centres like Guwahati and Dibrugarh, the public turnout could well exceed the one lakh figure.

Members of the public have been informed that attendance at the yoga camps would be free of cost, and time permitting, Swami Ramdev would also address individual cases. The Bharat Swabhimaan Yatra of Swami Ramdev commenced on September 2 this year in Gujarat and would conclude in 2012.

From the North-east, the Yatra�s next phase is scheduled in Andhra Pradesh. Almost all the districts of the country have been included in the itinerary.
