Swagat Hospitals organises free health camp at GU

GUWAHATI, Aug 23 - Swagat Hospitals organised a free health check-up cum awareness programme at Gauhati University on Thursday as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity, said a press release issued here today.

Inaugurating the programme, GU Vice Chancellor Dr Pratap Jyoti Handique laid stress on preventive healthcare management at regular intervals so as to avoid major health-related issues.

Chief Medical Officer of Gauhati University Hospital Dr Pulin Bora along with a team of doctors and support staff from Swagat Hospitals, conducted the camp. More than 200 patients, including students, employees and their dependants were examined at the camp.

Free consultations were given by Dr Sarat Saikia, Dr Abhirun Das and Dr Kunal Deka from Swagat Hospitals.

In course of the camp, Prof Subhash Khanna, CMD of Swagat Hospitals announced free ambulance service for the GU students, employees and their dependants.

Swagat Hospitals also distributed neighbourhood privilege cards among all present. The card holders will be able to avail benefits like 15 per cent discount on investigation (both OPD and IPD), 2.5 per cent discount on prescribed medicines and 10 per cent discount on accommodation.

Prof Khanna also congratulated Dr Handique on his taking charge as Vice Chancellor of Gauhati University, the press release added.
