�Swachhta Hi Seva� campaign launched in Nagaland, Arunachal

DIMAPUR, Sept 15 - Nagaland Governor PB Acharya launched the �Swachhta Hi Sewa� (Cleanliness is Service) campaign at Super Market area in Kohima today.

Addressing the launching programme, the Governor said cleanliness is next to godliness and that one should keep his/her surroundings clean in order to live a healthy life. He also emphasised on the importance of having good clean public toilets.

Acharya also urged the people of the State to keep their surroundings and colonies clean.

�For tourism to flourish in our State, we must keep our towns and villages clean,� he stressed.

Stating that the Government and municipal corporations are just felicitators, the Governor challenged all to make a clean Kohima and to set an example for others.��

Later, the Governor along with Minister for Road and Bridges Dr Neikiesalie Kire, Parliamentary Secretary for Housing Levi Rengma, Chief Secretary Pankaj Kumar and other senior bureaucrats symbolically cleaned the Super Market area in the heart of Kohima town.

The launching programme was chaired by Kohima DC Rajesh Soundararajan.

PTI adds: Arunachal Pradesh today joined rest of the country in launching the �Swachhta Hi Seva�, a nation- wide sanitation campaign on the occasion of third anniversary of Swachh Bharat Mission launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during 2014.

Urban Development and Housing Minister Nabam Rebia while launching the programme here said that the dream of the Prime Minister for a clean India by 2022 is going to be a reality soon with all cross sections of the society supporting and joining the cleanliness campaign.
