Swachhata Rath flagged off at Biswanath

BISWANATH CHARIALI, Aug 1 - State Minister for Public Health and Engineering (PHE) and Cooperatives, Rihon Daimari flagged off a Swachhata Rath on Tuesday here under the programme of Swachh Survekshan-2018.

Addressing a meeting on the occasion held in front of Binapani Natya Mandir, the minister said that Swachh Survekshan-2018 programme has emerged as the largest cleaning programme in the country. He also called upon everyone to take part in it to make it a success.

It may be mentioned here that the said programme got under way today in Biswanath district along with rest of the country under the aegis of District Water and Sanitation Committee of Department of Public Health and Engineering (PHE) under Swachha Bharat Mission (Gramin) with a month-long programme.

Monday�s programme was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Biswanath, Dhiraj Jyoti Kalita, Superintendent of Police Diganta Kumar Choudhury, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Diganta Baishya, Biswanath MLA Pramod Borthakur, Biswanath Municipality Chairperson Ruli Sharma and PHE Executive Engineer Rabin Das, among others. The rath will present videos, flim on sanitation, songs on sanitation and also distribute IEC posters and leaflets in all the rural areas touching every village till August 31.
