GUWAHATI, July 25 - Bharalumukh police last night arrested a surrendered ULFA cadre who had come to the city to collect extortion money from a businessman.
Bharalumukh OC Moni Chamua said the extortionist, Nipon Das, was caught near GNRC. �He is a surrendered cadre. He was earlier arrested in an extortion case in Garo Hills,� the OC said.
Rs one lakh was seized from his possession. The businessman, who was served the demand, hails from Dhubri. Nipon is a resident of Kukurmara in Boko.
