Support to SAKP�s Dec 18 ceasework

GUWAHATI, Dec 16 - The Assam Secretariat Services Association (ASSA) today extended its support to the ceasework announced by the Sadou Asam Karmachari Parishad (SAKP) on December 18.

In a statement the ASSA said all employees of the Assam Secretariat will also take part in the satyagraha to be held under the aegis of the All Assam Students� Union (AASU) in the Latasil field that day.

The Guwahati Municipal Karmi Sangha has also announced ceasework on December 18 as a protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA). But all emergency services have been exempted from the protest. It has also extended support to the movement started by the AASU against the Act.

Meanwhile, the AASU has extended support to the ceasework declared by the SAKP on December 18.

Meanwhile, former employees� union leader Charan Deka has condemned the arrest of Akhil Gogoi, AASU leaders and others who are participating in the ongoing agitation against the CAA.

Deka has demanded unconditional release of Akhil Gogoi and all other arrested leaders.
