Support to Anna Hazare rally on May 20

KALIABOR, May 6 � Senior citizens, intellectuals, members of the public and farmers here have extended support to the role of Gandhian leader Anna Hazare in respect of the fast unto death in favour of the Jan Lokpal Bill. Corruption in India has crossed limits ation various respects, but the action plan by the Government for preventing it is moving at a snail�s pace. If it continues, the public will suffer a lot of inconveniences.

Recent newspaper reports said that India is the fourth most corrupt nation among the 16 countries of the Asia Pacific as per the survey conducetd by a leading Hongkong-based business consultancy firm, PERC.

In view of this, a proper Act is most significant and Hazare�s Jan Lokpal Bill will be the milestone to control and punish the guilty concerned.

The public, senior citizens and intellectuals here have extended support to the ensuing anti-corruption rally to be held at Guwahati on May 20 under the auspices of the Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti in which anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare will address the public on the burning issues of the nation.

The public have urged the 10-member drafting committee of the Lokpal Bill to expedite the work in the greater interest of the people of India.
