GUWAHATI, Sept 26 - Assam State Academy and National Public School emerged champions in the U-16 and U-13 categories respectively in Guwahati chapter of the first edition of Sunfeast Cup football tournament.

In the U-16 final at the Nehru Stadium here today, Assam State Academy beat Guwahati Young Star Football Coaching Centre (GYSFCC) by a solitary goal. Rohan Chetri netted the only goal of the match. Earlier, Assam State Academy (ASA) outplayed Noonmati Coaching Centre 3-0 and GYSFCC thrashed APRO 2-0 in the semifinals. Trideb Boro scored a hattrick for the champion team. Pankaj Doimari and Bitupan Deka scored for GYSFCC. Trideb became the highest scorer of the U-16 category while Dipankar Bonia of Noonmati CC was adjudged as the best goalkeeper.

National Public School NPS) beat ASA 2-1 in the tough final of U-13 category. Gola Basumatary and Anand Chakma scored for NPS while Adarsha Rai Das was the only scorer for ASA. NPS beat Guwahati Refinery FCC 2-1 in the second semifinal today. Adarsha scored highest number of goals while Abhilash Baidya was named as the best goalkeeper in the U-13 category.

The Jorhat chapter of the Sunfeast Cup 2015 will be held from October 7 to 11.
