JALUKBARI, Aug 20 - A woman in her fifties who tried to commit suicide�by jumping into the Brahmaputra from the old Saraighat bridge around 3.30 pm today, was prevented from doing so by six youths from Garigaon who were fishing in the area. The reason for the suicide bid was not known.
Assistant Commissioner of Police, Jalukbari, Ponjit Duara said that the six youths would be awarded letters of appreciation for their brave act.
