Sudips arrest political vendetta: TMC

By Correspondent

AGARTALA, Jan 4 - Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Wednesday termed the arrest of party MP Sudip Bandopadhyay as political vendetta by the Central Government.

Bandopadhyay was arrested by CBI after his alleged involvement in Rose Valley scam inviting wrath of Trinamool Congress in West Bengal.

The tacit relation between BJP and CPI(M) has appeared clear after arrest of Bandopadhyay in the multi-crore Rose Valley chit fund scam in West Bengal, alleged Trinamool Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman.

At a press conference in the party office here, he said Tripura was the epicentre of Rose Valley, a Ponzi firm promoted by Gautam Kundu.

Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and some of his Cabinet colleagues have toiled hard to promote chit fund business in the State. Therefore, the CBI and ED must scan the role of Chief Minister, he demanded.

Coming down heavily on the BJP-led NDA Government for its one-eyed attitude, Roy Barman said CBI and ED must investigate all the cases related to business of Rose Valley and other chit fund companies.

He further informed TMC MLAs would meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi to apprise him about the chit fund business and its serious consequences in the Marxist-ruled State.
