UDALGURI, Aug 30 - �The students have the energy to change the fate of this country. But many of them prefer to choose teaching as their ultimate goal, as it seems to them that there are no suitable careers other than teaching. We suggest them to join defence or civil services which are more challenging.� This was observed by Purna Kirat Rai, president of the Udalguri district committee of the All Assam Gorkha Students� Union (AAGSU) while addressing a congregation of students here at a programme organised by the AAGSU unit of Udalguri College in association with the Udalguri regional unit of AAGSU.
The HS first year and TDC first year students studying in various HS schools, junior and degree colleges of Udalguri district were accorded warm welcome on the occasion.
The students also presented a series of patriotic songs and dances in the event.
