Student found dead in AMCH

DIBRUGARH, March 31 - The body of a final year MBBS student of Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) was found in mysterious circumstances next to his hostel (New Boys Hostel) building. The student identified as Ranbir Raj Deka of Nagaon was bleeding from his head. His forehead showed two deep scars. Two cut marks were also visible above his left eye.

Although the cause of his death has not been established as yet, it has been speculated that he fell from one of the windows as the building windows do not have protective iron bars. However, some suspect murder. Dr Ratan Kumar Kotokey, the Principal-cum-Chief Superintendent of the medical institute told this correspondent that it was premature to speak anything on the matter. �Post-mortem has not yet been done and police investigation is also on,� he said. Medical students too refused to talk on the matter.
