Strong students lead to a stronger nation: Sonowal

GUWAHATI, July 11 - �Strong students lead to a stronger nation. If led to a focused direction, an empowered student community can expeditiously build the nation on a strong edifice and lead it to a bright future.� This was opined by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal while talking to the functionaries of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) through an audio conference here today.

Sonowal said the objectives and actions of the ABVP have the inherent qualities of leading the students and nation to their deserving best.

He also said when the country is going through a tough phase, the members of the ABVP are working resolutely and adding momentum to the fight against the pandemic.

The Chief Minister also said in this condition, which has had its cascading effect on different aspects particularly on the lives of the poor and marginalized sections, the members of the ABVP are working impressively in government�s demeanour to help the poor and the migrants.

Sonowal said the state government is working tirelessly to expedite the rate of development in Assam. He also said if Assam has to excel in all fields, including education, students will have to take a lead role.

He said as a result of the Act East Policy, the region�s relations with the South-East Asian countries in communication, transportation, education, culture, tourism, trade and commerce have witnessed phenomenal progress.

Sonowal further said for the development of MSME sector, Assam has already received one thousand crores from the Centre and a roadmap has already been prepared in consultation with the bankers of the State to revitalize small and medium enterprises. Sonowal urged upon the dedicated members of ABVP to own responsibility and create awareness among the youths of the State to come forward and attain benefits from the sector.
