GUWAHATI, April 19 - All the non-teaching employees of Gauhati University (GU) today observed a two-hour pen-down strike in protest against the �delay in implementation� of the Common Pay Committee (CPC) report recommending revised pay structure for all the university employees.
The GU Workmen�s Union has called for expediting the matter for early approval by the appropriate authority. A three-phase programme that had started on April 9, had been called by the All Assam University Employees Federation (AAUEF) for early redressal of the grievances in all the other universities which are governed under CPC.
