Stop vote bank politics: AJYCP

By Correspondent

JORHAT, Jan 25 In a press conference here on Friday the district unit of AJYCP said the ministers and other leaders of ruling Congress should refrain from laying foundation stones of various public institutions and other establishments in Jorhat before the ensuing parliamentary poll as the majority of works in several constructions could not be completed in due time in the district though their early completion was assured by Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and some other ministers while they laid foundation stones of those establishments.

Construction in several projects including the Bhogdoi bridge were delayed by the government. They laid the foundation stones only to gain political mileage before every election, said district president of AJYCP Siva Kalita.

Along with him district general secretary of AJYCP Ritul Pathak also demanded the governments for completion of the several undergoing projects in the district before the general election as people are waiting for reaping their benefit which was assured by the political party before the earlier polls in Jorhat.

Vote bank politics must be stopped by Congress. Speed up the delayed works before announcing new projects for gaining voters mind, said Ritul Pathak in the press conference.
