Stop killing of innocents: anti-talk NDFB

By Correspondent

TEZPUR, Aug 19 Expressing grave concern over the alleged torture perpetrated on the innocent people of the Boro community, particularly those living in Sonitpur district, by the police and the security forces in the name of search operation against NDFB (R) with assistance from the cadres of the ceasefire group of the outfit, the anti-talk faction of NDFB has urged all concerned including Assam Police and security forces to stop killing innocent people.

In a press note issued to the media here today, central command 2nd lieutenant S Rwngouthi stated that in join operations conducted by Assam police and Indian Army and assisted by cadres of the outfits ceasefire group since 2009, more than 150 innocent villagers including school-going students have been killed in cases of fake encounters and many women raped after being picked up for interrogation.

The Assam Police and the security forces during their so-called operations against NDFB used to loot the poor villagers and pick up many innocents of various villages some of whom have allegedly been killed in fake encounters to establish the credit of Indian security agencies, Rwngouthi alleged.

Claiming that the anti-talk faction of the outfit is still strong enough and has taken up many policies to liberate the Boro nation, the self-styled lieutenant of the outfit further stated that if the Indian security agencies do not stop killing of innocent people immediately, it will also conduct operations against the security forces and the Assam Police.

Terming the government, Assam Police and the security forces as killing mechanism, the outfit leader added that one Albet Narjary (15), son of Khomel Narjary of Dipanjali village under Sotea police station in Sonitpur, who was a school-going boy, was picked up from home on August 10 last and was allegedly killed at a remote area along the Assam-Arunachal border in a fake encounter levelling him as an NDFB (R) member. In this process the NDFB cadres of the ceasefire group have been seen involved through which the government agencies like Assam Police and the security forces have been trying to destroy the greater Boro nation, Rwngouthi alleged.

In the press note the outfit leader has urged all concerned to stay away from creating any possible situation of fratricidal clash among the Boro people.
