Stolen ATM recovered, 7 held

DOOMDOOMA, April 12 � The ATM of Union Bank of India which was stolen from Uchamati of Doomdooma town on April 6 night was recovered yesterday by Doomdooma Police. Briefing the local scribes at Doomdooma PS today, Tinsukia SP Anand Prakash Tiwari told that seven people had been apprehended so far. But the main accused of the crime is yet to be arrested. He said that very soon police will be able to arrest them. Police also recovered the Maruti van (AS06F-7483) and the gas-cutter used in the crime along with four number of mobile hand-sets and a small amount of cash. There was approximately Rs. 2,00000/- in the ATM.

The seven apprehended persons are �Anarul Ali (25)driver of the Maruti van) of Tinsukia, Madhurjya Hazarika (18) of Bordubi, Pranab Phukan (22) of Kakopothar, Jitu Moran (25) of Jokaichuk, Ankur Dhekial Phukan (26) welder of Kakopothar, Ramesh Gowala (20) of Dorjijan and Lakhan Proja (30) of Gotong village.

Police recovered the stolen ATM from Lakhan Proja�s house where the thieves broke the machine with gas-cutter. Ankur Dhekial Phukon who is a welder did this work.
