TINSUKIA, Jan 27 � Activists of the Banglabhashi Yuba Chatra Parishad staged a two-hour long sit-in dharna under the statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at Tinkonia here yesterday demanding a halt to harassments allegedly being meted out to the Hindu Bangla-speaking people of the state in the name �D� voters.
They also demanded that all the cases against the Hindu Bangla-speaking people pending in the tribunal courts should immediately be dropped, reservation of jobs be ensured for the Hindu Bangla-speaking youths in government and other sectors, and the names of the Hindu Bangla-speaking people be included in the Natioanal Register of Citizens (NRC) unconditionally.
