BAIHATA CHARIALI, July 15 - Sensation has been prevailing in Rani area of Kamrup district following a businessman threatening to shoot dead another person.
According to reports available, a businessman named Dipak Barua, who has been running a stone crushing business in the area since a long time, allegedly got into an altercation with one Sankar Das of the locality and assaulted him on Friday, and finally threatened to shoot him dead.
As Sankar Das lodged an FIR at Rani police outpost against Dipak Barua, police subsequently registered Case No. 251/18 against the businessman, who has been absconding. The local public of the area have in the meantime alleged that earlier too the businessman had threatened some other common people too over trivial matters. The local public have demanded the district administration and the police to seize his arms immediately and cancel his trade licence so that no untoward incident may take place in the area.
