JALUKBARI, Sept 22 - At a time when the Assamese film industry is going through a lean phase, Resonance, the cinema club of Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology (GIMT), Guwahati has initiated steps to promote Assamese films by encouraging the upcoming generation to develop interest in regional cinema.

The institute has booked three full shows of the film Kothanodi for its students and faculty members at Gold Cinema.

GIMT feels that it is the responsibility of every Assamese to promote such films for the future growth and survival of our culture and talent.

On the other hand, the womens faculty members of GIMT under the banner of the Social Welfare Club, have initiated promotion of the film Pink, which has a message on young women who deal with thorny day-to-day issues in real life. The club has booked a complete show of the film for the faculty members and staff of the institute as a mark of respect to the makers of this powerful film.
