Steps initiated to ensure transparency

By Staff reporter

GUWAHATI, May 21 The Kamrup (Metro) district administration has facilitated some measures to ensure transparency in land deals. Under the arrangements, a person applying for sale of land can visit the website www.kamrupmetro.nic.in and type his/her PFC receipt number on the link land sale permission before seven days of the notified date and check whether his/her application has been processed. An abridged printout of the NoC can also be obtained from the website, an official release said.

After this, the applicants can collect their NoC from the Arunudoy Kendras located inside the Deputy Commissioners office campus after submitting the PFC receipt.

In the event of one not getting the NoC in the website prior to three days of the notified date, the applicants should contact the Additional Deputy Commissioner concerned.

Those who had applied in 2010 and 2011 respectively and have not yet got their NoCs, can contact the help-desk on Wednesday and Friday respectively between 11 am to 3 pm.

As part of its efforts to stop use and sale of polythene in the city, the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) will have a meeting with the business community tomorrow. The meeting will also discuss the matter of use of Assamese language in hoardings and signboards of business establishments.
